Make Your Business Tax Dollars a Win-Win for You & Your Community
Economic development starts at birth.
USE THE SCHOOL READINESS TAX CREDITS TO INVEST $5,000…GET $5,000…and much more!
WHAT ARE THE SCHOOL READINESS TAX CREDITS?
In 2007, the Louisiana Legislature passed a unique package of tax credits known as the School Readiness Tax Credits (SRTC). For Louisiana businesses, there is a REFUNDABLE state tax credit for donations made to Louisiana Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) agencies, such as NSU Child & Family Network which serves northwest Louisiana.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
- For every dollar up to $5,000 contributed to the NSU Child & Family Network, businesses will receive a dollar-for-dollar refundable credit on Louisiana State taxes.
- You can turn your liability into an investment in programs and people who support early care and education for children. This investment will ensure that all children have a strong foundation for future success in school and life.
- You have the power to decide where your tax dollars go. Direct the state of Louisiana to spend your tax dollars on early childhood care and education in YOUR community. The NSU Child and Family Network works to bring quality care and education to every child in northwest Louisiana.
Investing in early childhood programs pays off.
Research shows that quality care in early childhood (from birth to age five) is a critical element in how successful a child and our society as a whole will be in the years to come. The most economically-efficient time to develop skills and social abilities is the very early years. Prevention is far more cost-effective than remediation.
HOW DO I MAKE MY CONTRIBUTION AND SUBMIT MY CHECK?
Since our region’s CCR&R is part of a state university, donations are made payable to the NSU Foundation into an account for NSU Child and Family Network Northwest Louisiana School Readiness Project.
NSU Foundation 535 University Parkway Natchitoches, LA 71497
Note on the check that it is for NSU Child and Family Network Northwest Louisiana School Readiness Project. You will receive a letter from NSU Child and Family Network to document your donation. For additional info, contact Nancy P. Alexander at 318-677-3176 or NancyA@nsula.edu or your CPA.
