Thank you for your support, SWEPCO!

Step Forward was pleased to receive a grant from the AEP SWEPCO Foundation. The funds will go towards coordinating the operations of the NWLA Teen Advisory Committee.

“On behalf of the American Electric Power Foundation, I am proud to present Step Forward with funding to support the Teen Advisory Committee,” said SWEPCO External Affairs Manager Michael Corbin. “As we recognize some of the stressors that our young people are under, we’ve got to find some ways to offer them assistance at school, because that’s where they spend the majority of their time.”

The American Electric Power Foundation provides a permanent, ongoing resource for charitable initiatives involving higher dollar values and multi-year commitments in the communities served by AEP and initiatives outside of AEP’s 11-state service area.
The NWLA Teen Advisory Committee (TAC) serves as a youth advisory board to the Leadership Council at Step Forward. TAC is a regional youth-led group that will provide input on local policy decision-making and programming that impacts teens and young adults in North Louisiana. Membership provides a valuable opportunity for teens to participate in the democratic process, interact with city leaders and influence important decisions.
