Early Literacy Network Team Meeting
October 9, 2018 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join us for our Early Literacy Network Team meeting. We meet every second Thursday from 11:00am-12:00pm.
Third grade is a critical year when children transition from learning to read to reading to learn. Reading proficiency by the 3rd grade is one of the most important predictors of future academic achievement, high school graduation and career success, yet many NWLA children are missing this crucial milestone. Literacy disparities during the early grades are linked to persistent achievement gaps. Students who are not reading proficiently by third grade are four times more likely to drop out of high school than proficient readers.
Our Early Literacy Network Team projects include:
• Third Grade Literacy Volunteers
• Increase Health Services
• Parent Education on literacy
• Summer Reading Partnerships
• Little Free Libraries
